Blezinger
Stephan Blezinger started his own workshop in 1988 and is now recognized as
one of the finest recorder makers. All his instruments are based on historical
models and are characterised by a sharply inverted conical bore and curved,
narrow windways producing a full tone. His copy of an alto recorder after J
Denner won the coveted German Musical Instrument award in 1996. The recorders
are based on designs by Wyne, Bressan, Denner, Steenbergen and an Italian design
of tenor recorder found in the Leipzig collection forms the basis of his tenor
at a=415.
