Kung
- Studio
The Studio series, although primarily intended
for beginners, has proven to be popular with all levels of players requiring
a reasonably priced quality instrument. Available from sopranino to tenor all
sizes have a narrow labium which helps to produce a tone that is clear, warm
and full. Made from cherry, maple or pearwood, the tonal qualities of these
instruments also make them highly suitable for ensemble use.
The Studio tenor is keyless but designed so as to be accessible
for smaller hands and recent developments have produced a knick style keyless
tenor. The series also includes a soprano in b flat in pearwood or palisander.

Kung
- Superio
Instruments in this series are of a Baroque design with a narrow
windway that produces a light and very elegant tone. Capable of an expressive
tone these recorders are very rewarding to play and will cope with the most
demanding repertoire. Especially popular is the knick bass in either pearwood
or cherry and a new addition to the series is a knick great bass in C in stained
maple. This is an attractive and easy to handle instrument with a full sound,
easy response and very manageable keywork guaranteed to be a welcome addition
to any consort.

The new Kung Superio
Subbass in F is the low register partner to the hugely successful Superio Great
bass in c - it was demonstrated by Andreas Kung at the 2006 Greenwich Festival
& Exhibition of Early Music to rave reviews. It is designed for ensemble
playing, and has a range of 2 octaves, a clear high register, large finger holes,
and a deep, strong sound rich in overtones. The well designed key work is designed
for comfort and ease of playing. The right hand keys are all mounted on the
long foot making them more stable and quieter than most other key systems. Includes
crook and hard case. Optional stand available.
Such is the demand for this new instument that there can be quite a long delivery
time! Please enquire with staff to check on stock availability.

Kung
- Classica
The Classica series is the traditional Kung range and is available
from garklein to subcontra bass. With a full sound, good response and excellent
tuning this fine quality range is ideal for consort use. Made predominantly
in harder woods such as bubinga, rosewood and grenadilla which add to the rich
sound a consort of these instruments can produce.
