Yamaha
The 300 series by Yamaha, based on designs by Rottenburgh is perhaps our best
selling range of plastic recorders. They have excellent intonation and a good
sound that makes them ideal as student instruments or as reasonably priced
consort recorders from sopranino to bass. The tenor comes with a split C/C#
key and the knick bass is our most popular bass recorder with an easy reach,
excellent tone and reliable two octave range. Soprano and alto recorders are
also made in a choice of simulated rosewood or grenadilla wood-grain finish.

Aulos
Aulos are one of the major names in plastic recorders and we stock the 200,
300, 500 and 700 series. The 500 series is more faithful to historic designs
and provides players with a range of inexpensive instruments from garklein
to bass. A soprano and alto are also made in the 700 series with an attractive
wood-grain finish and a tenor is made with this finish in the 500 series.

Moeck
- Flauto 1![]()
This two-piece soprano recorder is made from a specially prepared synthetic
material. It has a light finish and reliable intonation.
Moeck - Flauto 1 plus 023
This popular model combines a synthetic headjoint with a body made from
maple. The headjoint is attached to the body with a rubber seal instead
of cork. The result is a virtually maintenance free recorder with a sound
like that of a wooden recorder. This two-piece soprano is an excellent instrument
for a beginner.

Mollenhauer

Intended for beginners, the Swing two-piece soprano instruments are reasonably
priced and well-designed plastic recorders. The windway has been designed
so as to help reduce condensation and the tuning is very reliable. The series

Mollenhauer Prima
The Prima range combines attractive coloured plastic headjoints with pearwood
bodies. The plastic headjoint, attached to the body with a rubber seal,
makes for an almost maintenance free and stable instrument with the sound
and feel of a wooden recorder. The soprano is available in either waterblue,
transparent, beige or red and the alto with a beige headjoint. Ideal recorders
for beginners with the soprano being in two pieces and the alto in three.

Dolmetsch
Nova![]()
The Dolmetsch Nova series is a good value range of instruments available from
sopranino to bass. The tenor comes with a split C/C# key and the bass is a
knick instrument. They are very light to hold making them suitable for all
players.

Zen-on
Zen-on was the first company to produce an accurate baroque copy recorder
in plastic. Their Stanesby Jr soprano and Bressan alto are both to be recommended
for the solo player. Friedrich von Huene was the consultant designer for the
series and the unique qualities of the originals are reflected in these reproductions.
Also available in wood-grain finish.
