This competition is aimed at young recorder players players who aspire to a professional career, and who are most likely to be in the final stages of study or newly embarking on their professional performing career. It offers them the opportunity to prepare a creative and challenging recital under the auspices of a panel of adjudicators, who this year includes Paul Leenhouts, Pierre Hamon and Ian Wilson.

The panel of judges will announce the winner after the finalists' recitals at The Greenwich International Festival of Early Music, 2005. Details of the finalists and their programmes appear below.
