For several years The Early Music Shop have operated a brokerage system which publishes a list of secondhand instruments of every category - keyboards, strings, woodwinds etc. The listing is mailed out frequently to our vast database and is reproduced here in full on our web site. It is brought up to date on a weekly basis and is perhaps the speediest and most dependable method of disposing of an unwanted instrument to provide funds for either a new instrument or that long promised holiday in the sun!
Some of the better instruments are illustrated.
In the main
the instruments are available for inspection in our showrooms, either in Saltaire
or in London. The reference 'SL' after the stock number means the instrument
is on show in London, 'S' means the instrument is on show in Saltaire. A number
without an 'S' or 'SL' indicates that the instrument is available only for inspection
at the customer's residence, but we often have a photograph.
For instruments on sale at The Early Music Shop, Saltaire please email uia@earlymusicshop.com
or 'phoine 01274 288100
For instruments on sale at The London Recorder Centre, London please email lrc@earlymusicshop.com or 'phone 020 7486 9101
The growing demand for secondhand instruments means that the The Early Music Shop's record for disposing of instruments is good.
To add an instrument to the listing, please be in touch with our staff who will give you a realistic assessment of its worth. (You of course determine the price at which it is offered).
Photographs, if you have them, are always desirable. A photograph of the instrument can be put on the net if it you would like a dedicated page.
One attraction of the scheme is that as we act as brokers only for the seller - NO form of taxation is added to the sale price, only on the selling commission, which gives the instruments additional worth.
